Judging Criteria for Bill Barlow Scholarship
A panel of PRBRC members and staff will evaluate projects based on :
- Scientific Thought-Is the problem stated clearly? What is the plan for obtaining a solution? Does the data support the conclusion? Are citations to the scientific or popular literature used appropriately?
- Creative Ability- Does the project demonstrate creative or original thinking in terms of the question asked, the problem-solving approach, the use or design of equipment, or the analysis and interpretation of data?
- Thoroughness and Skill-Was the problem adequately studied? Are the project notes complete? How much assistance did the student receive from parents, teachers, scientists, or peers?
- Clarity - Does the poster display and written material reflect the student's understanding of the research? Are the methods, results and conclusions/discussion presented clearly?
