PRBRC is committed to working towards the development of Food and Agriculture policy which contributes to the healthy and affordable eating habits of all Wyomingites. We at PRBRC support linkage between consumers and agricultural producers that will provide greater options and economic opportunities for agricultural producers to succeed economically and to diversify their present operations as well as allowing both large scale and small scale entrepreneurs to enter the business of growing consumer foods.
Some developing issues include purchase preferences for local meats and produce for schools and institutions through the School Lunch Program and the Child Nutrition Reauthorization Act, on-going education and information on buying local, opportunities for local processing and sound food safety policy.
