Panel to Highlight Challenges & Opportunities for Wyoming’s Energy & Economic Future
Powder River Basin Resource Council Hosts 45th Annual Meeting Nov. 4th in Sheridan
On Saturday, November 4th, Powder River Basin Resource Council will host its 45th Annual Meeting at the Holiday Inn in Sheridan. This year’s theme, Reclaiming Wyoming & Diversifying Our Economy, features a keynote panel: “A Conversation About Wyoming’s Energy & Economic Future.” The panel includes Mike Madden, economist & Chair of the Wyoming House Revenue Committee; Mark Haggerty, economist with Headwaters Economics; and Rob Godby, Director of the Center for Energy Economics & Public Policy at the University of Wyoming. The panel will be moderated by Dustin Bleizeffer, a Wyoming journalist with more than 18 years of experience covering energy and natural resource issues.
“I’m very excited to hear our well-qualified panelists speak about one of Wyoming’s most pressing issues: how we diversify our economy and tax base to bring ourselves out of the boom-bust cycle,” stated Wilma Tope, Chair of the Resource Council’s Annual Meeting Committee. “Our organization is focused on creating solutions, and we hope our panelists will foster good community conversation both at the meeting and into the months and years to come.”
The public portion of the Annual Meeting kicks off at 4 P.M. with a social hour, live music, and live & silent auctions. The dinner and keynote panel will begin at 7 P.M. Honoring the Resource Council’s commitment to local agriculture; this year’s dinner features Gourmet Lamb of Wyoming. Tickets are $45 for members and $55 for non-members (which includes a one-year membership). Everyone is welcome.
